Bad Drivers..

Often the most frustrating part of my day is driving to school. I live at Willowbrook Apartments. Maybe a mile and a half or so from college. Yet almost every day there is at least one to two horrible drivers on the road. The speed limit is forty miles per hour the entire distance in between my home and classes. However these drivers will proceed at the average speed of twenty to twenty five m.p.h.! This is ridiculous! The worst part is that even slowing your vehicle down to thirty m.p.h. isn't slow enough and before you know it you're having to slow down even more to avoid riding their tail. Even better is how they assume that you ARE riding their tail anyway and will slow down even further to feed their egos! One day I had to slow down to ten m.p.h.! Are you kidding me?!

I am not usually prone to road rage. It generally only ruins your own day and rarely affects the other person in any way. However, I am instantly livid at these inconsiderate drivers and how they feel they are controlling the road or whatever. It's not like you can go around them because of the frequent oncoming traffic in the other lane. I don't have a solution to this problem other than perhaps posting a minimum speed sign. Though even if there was such a sign, I doubt these rude people would even follow it! I could understand if I was driving like a bat out of hell, or maybe going over the speed limit. Usually though I'm going five m.p.h. below the speed limit. I know that it doesn't help that there are two senior centers along that road. To me, this is another example why annual driving tests for seniors are needed to ensure that they are still safe to be on the roads. The sad part is is that half of these people that are frustrating me are even old! So what is the excuse for these younger drivers?! I just wish I had a motorcycle to easily pass them and be done with it.
