Today at USAO, I learned that most people don’t believe it is possible to stay in a long distance relationship. I have friends that have broken up with the person they loved because they can’t stand the “heartache” of not seeing their significant other every day or even every other day. It takes a lot of work to be in a long distance relationship and the right people to make them successful. I have been in one for almost two years now and I am happily engaged to a man who live in Texas. I see him about twice a month if we are not busy. Yes, there may tears shed but I know one day I will be living with him and it makes it all the worthwhile. It takes a lot of trust and a phone call every night to keep me happy, but I found the guy that is perfect for me and I’m not letting him slip through my fingers because of a little driving.
Yes, it sucks not seeing him/her every day and not being able to hangout every night, but if you really love someone and they have the same feelings don’t let the distance keep you two apart. Think about the men and women who have their husbands and wives at war and they can make it work. My number one tip is to make yourself a Skype account (an online program where you and another person can see and hear each other) and have them do the same and it will be easier until you can close that distance between you and them. Whether it is 50 miles away or across the world it is very possible. Long distance relationships do work and don’t let other people tell you otherwise. It’s hard to find love so stick with it no matter what or you may just regret it.

I've been married for almost 22 years to my long distance relationship. I lived in Syracuse NY and he was stationed at Tinker AFB. It can be done. Good Luck :)
ReplyDeleteWow that's amazing and thank you! I agree with you that it can be done.
